The Institute of Computational Chemistry has been configured from the so-called Laboratory for Computational Chemistry (founded by Dr. R. Carbo in 1985), formed mostly by researchers from the Department of Chemistry, especially from the Area of Knowledge of Physical Chemistry. This Institute develops specialized studies in the field where Chemistry, Physics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science intersect. This Institute provides also interdisciplinary studies dedicated to Computational Chemistry in the different aspects of basic and applied research. This Institute provides a deep insight into subjects typical of Theoretical Chemistry and Quantum Physical Chemistry; further, it gathers subjects akin to Biochemistry, Analytic and Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Fine Chemistry, Physics, and applied Computer Science and Mathematics.

The Institute tries to deal, among others, with the development of knowledge in the following fields:

So here are our our goals.
